I live in the Maroon community of Cornwall Barracks, above Moore Town, the seat of the Windward Maroons.
The guest cottage is situated on 2/3 acre of land along with a main house and a workshop. The property has over 100 species of medicinal plants and various food crops and fruits – for example oranges, pineapples, jackfruit, star apples, just to name a few. The property is also a sanctuary for birds, especially from December-May. We have many endemic species of birds and some migrants in Jamaica. It’s an ideal spot for birdwatching.
The guest cottage consists of a bedroom with two beds (one double and one single), a bathroom, a kitchen, and a porch.
